Two Men Face Charges Over Heathrow Alleged Pepper Spray Attack
Two men have been charged following a suitcase robbery where a suspected pepper spray resulted in harm at London's Heathrow Airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and two counts of using a harmful chemical, according to official statements.
The charges follow an probe of an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Before the assault occurred, two women were robbed of their luggage stolen after getting out of a parking garage elevator, authorities reported.
A three-year-old girl was one of the people hurt in the event. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were subsequently released.
The incident – which authorities stated was a standalone event and not considered a terror-related act – caused disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a limited duration.
