Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with book publisher.

Acclaimed children's author and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.

A representative for the publisher stated: "After careful consideration, and under the leadership of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the decision was taken subsequent to an review of allegations of inappropriate behaviour involving young women.

The company has not elaborated on the reasons for its decision, stating: "We do not comment on confidential company decisions."

An Illustrious Writing Journey

Walliams stands as a most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding more than 60 million copies internationally in five dozen languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins in 2008.

A number of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into television films.

He has published over four dozen titles in total, encompassing a festive story titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins last autumn.

His career breakthrough occurred on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE several years ago in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.

This development follows the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
