Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Nigeria Following Deadly Car Crash

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, Nigerian authorities announced on Wednesday evening. The 36-year-old was involved in a car accident near Lagos on Monday, a devastating event that resulted in the deaths of two of his close associates.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

Joshua had been receiving medical attention while recovering from minor injuries, his management team confirmed on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post online that Joshua was declared medically stable to “recuperate at home”.

“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two friends who passed away as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the commissioner stated.

Honoring the Deceased

The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the loss of his two trusted companions.”
